Guideline for General Practices
The Guideline for General Practices: complying with the Equal Opportunity Act when providing services is relevant to all staff who work in general practice clinics, including general practitioners (GPs), practice managers, practice nurses, allied health professionals, and reception and administration staff. Staff who do not provide direct services also need to understand their role in preventing discrimination. There is also information for patients about their rights.

Equality in health services is a legal obligation.

The Commission has developed a set of resources for all people who work within general practices to make sure they are aware of their legal rights and responsibilities when it comes to equal opportunity.
